As a multi service & product provider we are able to take care of most areas of your vehicle. So when this 2019 Range Rover Sport SVR came in for a bespoke steering wheel and our client decided they wanted extra security, we knew we would be able to help!
First off, the Range Rover Sport SVR is one of the best performance utility vehicles on the planet. So when we were tasked with upgrading the already sporty and practical steering wheel setup we knew it would not be an easy feat. Working with our client to assess his style and wants from the build, we were able to put together a specification that not only matched his interior, but also added a cutting edge and sense of urgency that the SVR is known for.
The steering wheel specification starts with black alcantara to give the wheel a motorsport feel along with white stitching to match the factory interior. The use of carbon fibre was essential, as its lightweight properties and reputation for use in many industries as a performance material adds a race-like look and feel. Carbon fibre paddle shifters were also a must, not only to match the core but also to give the driver a bigger surface area to engage with when changing gears. LED shift lights and the vehicle LCD display were also a major feature of the build again adding to the sportier but practical build plan.
One of the biggest challenges with this build was maintaining the functionality of the heat on the steering wheel. To achieve this a wiring pattern had to be developed and seating on the grips to ensure both safety and practicality were met. The build was finally finished off with carbon fibre trim with the SVR logo etched at 6 O'clock. On the whole the wheel truly adds a missing dimension to the interior without compromising on any features or functions.
Steering wheel installed, it was time to add additional security. For this we recommended the Autowatch Ghost II to our client. After providing more information on the product as well as a demonstration on our demo vehicle, our client decided to go ahead with the product which we then installed giving him peace of mind that his vehicle is now protected against key and keyless car theft.
